Is ChatGPT Promoting Anti-Hindu Narratives? Was Raavan a rapist?

राम राम सबको.

Recently, out of curiosity, one of our team members asked Chat GPT some basic questions about the history of Hinduism and dharma. However, he reached a point where the conversation became serious and started to provide misleading information.

For more clarity, we've also added some screenshots for your references.

The question was asked in Hinglish (a blend of Hindi and English) to assess efficiency. It inquires whether, in Hinduism, killing a criminal is deemed a sin? (kya kissi gunehgar ki jaan lena bhi paap hai hindu dharm mein?)

Then it started responding and noted that Raavan was a rapist.

Really?

He repeated the same question by quoting the identical text in the response section.

This time, Chat GPT acknowledged its mistake and rectified it in subsequent responses. However, the major concern is whether it can easily influence someone's opinions if the user doesn't repeat or rephrase the question?

We may never fully understand the extent of misinformation Chat GPT has disseminated over the years.

Ultimately, it also stated that discussing Hinduism and itihaas (history) are interconnected.

We also believe that they are integral to our ancestors, ourselves, and the history of humanity.

If you believe that Chat GPT is promoting any form of propaganda against Hinduism or any other religion, please share your thoughts in the comment section.

The post about the ISFF watch & review giveaway really shows how film events can bring communities together through shared opinions and creativity. It reminded me of a school media assignment where we had to review short clips and explain what made them meaningful, which was actually fun once we started discussing them as a group. During that same busy semester, I had used help with online exam while trying to manage coursework and deadlines together. It made me realize how participation and reflection both matter in learning experiences.
